I am an art teacher, fine artist and illustrator based in Phoenix, Arizona. I specialize in classic style painting and drawing using traditional methods. I have over 25 years of experience in commercial advertising and received my BFA in Illustration from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. I have also earned an MFA in Illustration from the University of Hartford.

I was born in Redondo Beach, California. My early training as an artist was with traditional graphics media using ink, colored pencils, and the airbrush. I was also part of the digital revolution, seeing firsthand the transition from traditional media to digital, in commercial art. Currently, I continue to develop traditional skills in oil painting and drawing inspired by artists from the golden age of illustration, while also maintaining my abilities in digital art.

Fascinated with different cultures and eager for new experiences in art and food, I have traveled to Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia. When I am not making art or traveling, you can find me in the kitchen working on my latest edible creation.
